There is nothing like an outdoor movie in the summer. Getting popcorn and soda, hanging out with your friends and family while watching a movie outside is a different type of happiness. Outdoor movies during the summer can be a fun and enjoyable way to spend time with friends and family while enjoying the warm weather and the magic of the big screen. Throughout the whole month of August Warner Center Park, in Woodland Hills, will be showing a movie every Thursday night. These free movies will begin at dusk once a week on Saturday.

The schedule for the free movies in August 2023 is listed below.


August 5th: Top Gun: Maverick

Top Gun: Maverick is set 34 years after the events of the first film and follows Maverick as he mentors a new generation of pilots, including Bradley Bradshaw, the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Nick “Goose” Bradshaw.


August 12th: Coco

Coco tells the story of a young boy named Miguel, who dreams of becoming a musician despite his family’s long-standing ban on music. When Miguel finds himself magically transported to the Land of the Dead, he teams up with a charming trickster named Hector to uncover the truth behind his family’s past and to find a way back to the world of the living.


August 19th: Jurassic World: Dominion

This movie explores themes of genetic engineering, animal rights, and the impact of humanity on the environment. It also feature a variety of dinosaurs, including new species never before seen in the franchise.


August 26th: Turning Red

The movie tells the story of a 13-year-old girl named Mei Lee who is struggling to cope with the challenges of adolescence while also dealing with a magical, transformative condition that causes her to turn into a red panda when she gets too excited or emotional.
These movies were all released in 2022 except Coco, which came out in 2017. Coco and Turning Red are both Disney movies. Disney movies are generally considered to be suitable and enjoyable for children. Many Disney movies are classic tales of adventure, friendship, and self-discovery that offer valuable lessons for children. Top Gun: Maverick and Jurassic World: Dominion are rated PG-13, so it is advised that children under the age of 13 do not see these movies. Movies in the outdoor summer setting can be a great way to enjoy the warm weather and spend time with friends and family.
