When it comes to retail in Woodland Hills, there are a few must-visits, and in this post-COVID era when in-person shopping is finally back in full swing, L.A. fashionistas are ready to frequent their favorite trendy boutiques and even hole-in-the-wall coffee spots. The same rings true for Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevard – and super-chic Rodeo Drive – where tourists and locals alike gather in front of luxury shops that are back in action.

Indeed, Woodland Hills has a boutique for every shopper, and after the past few years, we’re all due for some much-needed retail therapy. The following represent those aforementioned must-visit shops around town where you’re guaranteed to find some gems – treasures probably not available through your garden variety e-commerce channel.

Soto LifeStyle Woodland Hills, located at 4863 Topanga Canyon Boulevard, offers women’s clothing, accessories and gifts that are stylish and of high quality. Stop in and get some of the fashionable ladies to style you up for some new outfits – you’re guaranteed to get more than a few compliments and double-takes from the gentlemen you breeze past. Take in the fragrant aroma of bliss emanating from the shop’s candle collection or pick up a special gift as a well-deserved present to yourself – with everything all of us have gone through over the past couple of tumultuous years, you deserve it. Open from 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday and 12 pm to 5 pm on Sunday.

Little Blue Boutique, located at 4774 Park Granada Suite 7 in Calabasas, is a unique gift shop offering a variety of seasonal and sought-after affordable products, one which is beloved by everyone from local celebrities to moms and teachers across the Woodland Hills area. Established in 2009, Little Blue Boutique is the brainchild of Angela Malner, who opened this store as part of the Blue Table family, her sister Gina going on to own Blue Table Wine and Cheese Bar in Agoura Hills. A former chef, Angela opened the boutique and immediately transformed it into a unique gift spot, always enjoying hunting down “the new thing” and forming relationships with each customer – so much so, in fact, that the people of Calabasas and their children have become her extended family after all of these years. Open 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Wednesday, 10 am to 7pm Thursday through Saturday and 11 am to 7 pm on Sunday.

Blackbird General Store, located at 23504 Calabasas Road Suite 2 in Calabasas, represents a modern take on the general store concept, focused on unique, one-of-a-kind gifts and goods for the whole family. The store features a highly-curated selection of gourmet foods, home goods, apparel, jewelry and accessories, gifts, books, apothecary items and much more, with many of Blackbird’s return customers thinking of the business as a “hip, updated version of the general store idea of the past.” The Saturday Farmer’s Market takes place right outside Blackbird’s door, boasting a wide variety of local, handmade and small-batch merchandise alongside award-winning products from across the globe. As a bonus, all of the products sold here can be assembled in Blackbird’s branded wood gift boxes for every occasion. Open 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 4 pm on Sunday.

Kingfisher Road, located at 21771 Ventura Boulevard, was founded in 2004 out of a dream to create a unique boutique that offers gifts that truly speak from the heart. By 2008, the shop started carrying apparel born from a need of what women want – great clothing, sold in an environment where they can be comfortable while looking chic and beautiful. Currently, Kingfisher sells a massive selection of apparel, including True Grit merchandise for the gentlemen, in addition to jewelry at every price point, a product roster that encompasses the Kingfisher Road Private Collection of fine jewelry, accessories, purses, readers by Eyebobs, scarves, belts, candles by Voluspa/Himalayan/OHI and baby products by Jellycat and Milkbarn. At the end of the day, Kingfisher Road offers something for everyone, whether it’s the perfect outfit for a fun night out with the girls – or for just running errands – or an ideal hostess gift. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm.

Los Angeles is comprised of some of the most talented and creative individuals on the planet and fortunately for us Woodland Hills residents, a good portion of them own stores, boutiques and shops they’ve chosen to share with the community. If you’re in need of a little retail therapy in Woodland Hills and want to shop “locally small,” as we like to say, these aforementioned businesses won’t do you wrong.
