There’s no real way to sugar-coat this, so we’re just going to say it – fall in Los Angeles is something of an elusive phenomenon. Unlike northeastern regions of the country, there’s no nip in the air or crispness to the breeze, and any dramatic color changes normally take place in fashion rather than on trees. What’s more, some of the warmest (and most wild-fiery) days land in these months, which is really odd when you stop to think about it.
Angelinos, for the most part, think of autumn as that period after most of the tourists typically flee and just before Christmas lights go up, but even if you’re still sunning yourself in that curve-hugging swimsuit on L.A.’s beaches come October, there’s no ignoring the signs: the impulse to add to your reading list, to buy sweaters you won’t wear for weeks, to throw a scarf on over your sundress and maybe even order seasonal squash dishes.
Regardless, this roundup collects the best things to do around Woodland Hills during the fall season – or, at least, activities that will help it feel more like autumn in the Golden State.
