West Hills’ Café Della Vita serves up Sicilian-inspired favorites family-style amidst a backdrop of a festive, welcoming atmosphere.
Occupying the former home of Café Bellissimo of Woodland Hills and Thousand Oaks, Café Della Vita has become recognized amongst Woodland Hills residents as an out-of-the-box Italian dining experience, cited for its hand-built artistic structural elements as envisioned and realized by Antonio Mystic Bellissimo – who utilized many recycled materials inspired by “spirit guidance” that pays homage to his community of West Hills. The restaurant, serving homemade Italian/Sicilian specialties including pizza, pasta, chicken and seafood as well as vegan dishes, presents its wondrous kitchen creations family-style and in a “festive, loving” atmosphere, all sourced from Antonio’s mother’s homeland recipes of Longi, Sicily.
“At Café Della Vita, it’s all about the celebration of life in the moment,” explains Antonio Bellissimo. “This extends to our live entertainment which features ‘singing servers’ that can belt out tunes from anything related to Disney, Broadway, opera and beyond – my brother Emelio even gets in on the act with Italian and internationally-flavored songs. Whether chilling out with a delicious glass of Italian wine in front of our fountains or dining in our covered and heated ‘Romantic Zen’ patio by the tomato, spice and herb plants, there’s nothing anywhere in Woodland Hills that’s quite like the Café Della Vita experience.”
The Café Della Vita menu, served Tuesday through Sunday, features selections divided amongst “Godfather” groups that encompass pasta, pizza and vegetable creations; the Godfather 1 includes choice of a pizza, pasta or vegetable plate, with spaghetti, linguine, angel hair penne or gluten-free pasta options and pizzas with a variety of toppings, vegetarian choices or classic Marghertia-style, or a fresh seasonal vegetable plate/large Caesar Salad. The Godfather 2 group offers a daily baked special which servers detail tableside.
The Godfather 3 allows patrons to choose one entrée from choices including Chicken Piccata, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parmigiana, Italian Sausage and Meatballs, Clams and Linguine, Salmon Linguine and Salmon Filet, each of which is served with a side of pasta and/or vegetables. A seafood special of the day is also available with the Godfather 3.
Beyond the aforementioned menu items served family-style, what enables Café Della Vita to stand out amongst a myriad of L.A. area restaurants is its Wellness Metaphysical Store, located on premises and offering crystals, incense, self-help books, musical instruments, gifts and potions, as well as a Wellness Center, offering “life-changing” solutions for the mind, body and soul. The variety of activities hosted by Café Della Vita’s Wellness Center range from art, music and therapy to specific groups like Yoga Dance, Healing Diseases, Healing Relationships, Healing the Wounds of Life, Energy Balancing, Therapeutic Body Tune-Up, Releasing the Past, Building Confidence and many more.
Special events, held regularly, include Full Moon Music Festivals and drum circles, which encompass sensory movements translated to music in order to release tension and oxygenate the body and rejuvenate and recharge participants. Additionally, cooking classes and family events, art, drumming, didgeridoo and Native American flutes are offered at this one-of-a-kind restaurant/wellness center.
