When you’re looking for exciting new events in Woodland Hills as the warm weather approaches, don’t forget to check out the Topanga Vintage Market at Pierce College. You’re sure to find that unique item you’ve been looking for, from gorgeous handmade jewelry to the perfect piece of art for your entryway. And even if you’re not shopping, the browsing and people watching are a wonderful way to spend a Saturday.
Taking place the last Saturday of every month at Pierce College, Victory Blvd at Mason Ave, the vintage market is one of the premiere events in Woodland Hills. With over 180 vendors of antique and vintage goods, Topanga is widely known as the coolest flea market in Los Angeles. Sellers who rent a booth are required to sell antiques or collectibles that are at least 20 years old or art and other objects that are made with vintage goods or antiques. If handmade items are more your speed, the market also hosts a select collection of local artisans each month.
Not only is admission just $2 (free for children under 12), but there are plenty of food trucks on the grounds to satisfy those pre- and post-shopping cravings. If you get tired of walking and want to relax, visit the music lounge to see some great live acts and get out of the sun. For antique aficionados looking to sell their wares, booth rental is $75.
Whether you’re a collector of antiques or just looking for a way to enjoy the outdoors, this is one of the best ways to spend a day in Los Angeles–and a great way to show out-of-town guests the true spirit of the city. California Home and Design magazine named Topanga Vintage Market one of the best flea markets in Southern California, while Angeleno magazine named it one of the top five spots to treasure hunt just six short months after its debut. Many who have attended the event note that it has a strict “no junk” policy, meaning that you’re sure to find some fantastic items for your time and trouble.
The Topanga Vintage Market is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, on the fourth Sunday of each month. The event benefits The Foundation at Pierce College, an organization that focuses on raising money and building awareness of the college campus in Woodland Hills. Thanks for the recommendation! We are still growing strong on the 4th Sunday of the month. Our market is now raising money directly for Pierce College, and our entry has gone up a wopping $1 so it’s now $3 to enjoy a whole day of vintage hunting, food trucks and music. Hope we see you there soon! http://www.topangavintagemarket.com
