Point Mugu RV Park in Point Mugu is located right on the beach with 71 full hookup spaces, complete with electricity, sewer, water and Wi-Fi connections. This leisure facility is geared towards members of the military, open to CAC holders only with no guests or “trusted travelers” having authorization for entry. Leo Carrillo State Beach, located 28 miles northwest of Santa Monica on the Pacific Coast Highway, offers 1.5 miles of beach for swimming, surfing, windsurfing, surf fishing and beachcombing — but it also welcomes trailers, campers and motorhomes up to 31 feet in length. Giant sycamores shade the main campgrounds, making for a lovely backdrop to your expedition, while back-country hiking beckons from just beyond. Although the park, surrounded by nature, feels like a million miles from civilization, it is just a short drive from some of the area’s most iconic sites like Vasquez Rocks, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Agula Dulce Winery, The Gentle Barn, Placerita Canyon Nature Center, Reyes Winery and Golden Valley Ranch open space.

Point Mugu State Park – Thornhill Broome Campground, located at 9000 West Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, boasts over 69 primitive campsites stretching for two miles along PCH and parallel to the surf of the Pacific Ocean, all listed as being 31 feet in length and 12 feet wide. Vault toilets are available and there are a few roadside spigots for drinking water (though there is no sanitation/dump station), as well as a cold shower near campsite #47. The campsites here can also accommodate trailers and RVs up to 31 feet, and some will accommodate tents – a number of which can be pitched right on the sand of the beach.

Kenney Grove Park, located at 823 North Oak Avenue in Fillmore, is nestled in oak trees and surrounded by orchards, offering family and group barbecue and picnic sites, playground facilities and a turf field. Tents are available for family and group camping, as are RVs with restrooms and showers, and the park maintains quiet hours from 9 pm to 7 am (no generator use). For a truly unique camping experience near Woodland Hills, give Kenney Grove Park a try – situated off 7th Street between Old Telegraph Road and Sycamore Road.
