West Hills Loop Trail Summer

The Victory Loop Trail, as its name states, is a 5.37-mile loop that attracts outdoor enthusiasts of all sorts. The trail is rather flat but does have some slight inclines in areas. The entire loop consists of fairly wide trails and gravel paths; so if you do encounter fellow hikers or bikers, there is plenty of room to share the trail. However, that is one of the appealing points of the Victory Loop Trail, it is seldom a crowded area.

Why do hikers enjoy hiking in West Hills along the Victory Loop Trail? The trail offers ravishing views and enchanting wildflowers. Along your hike, you will find several smaller trails that shoot off the loop that enable each hiker to create their own adventure and view different scenery that may not be visible from the main path.

Although the scenery along the Victory Loop Trail is beautiful, it can get quite hot hiking in West Hills. Make sure you prepare for the conditions so you are able to appreciate and enjoy the trails and your escapade.

Hiking alone has its allure; but occasionally, we want to share our experience. However, at times, it can be difficult to find a hiking buddy. No need to worry. The Victory Loop Trail does allow dogs on the paths, just make sure you have your pet on a leash at all times. Is your pet a little larger? Horses are also permitted on the Victory Loop Trail. As a hiker, keep in mind that dogs, horses, and mountain bikes are authorized to be on the trail; so, as always, it is a good idea to be aware of your surroundings.

Some hikers have expressed concern regarding the presence of rattlesnakes along the Victory Loop Trail; however, more often than not, the rattling they are encountering is coming from cicadas rather than snakes. That being said, it is always a good idea to be alert in order to ensure a safe hiking experience.

Whether you live in the area or are just visiting and have yet to witness the beauty of the Victory Loop Trail, make it a point to get out there and see why others have found hiking in West Hills to be one of nature’s most enjoyable gifts.
